City of Yverdon-les-Bains and Haute Ecole d’Ingénierie et de Gestion du Canton de Vaud (HEIG-VD) / HES-SOinvite you to participate in the Urbanblitz, an event that combines some training and a contest addresse to students of Bachelor and Masters programs. Students will have the chance to discover Yverdon-les-bains town planning, learn from presentations of urban projects, experience an urban contest and develop an original project in participation.

The contest is open to 15 students, organized in 4 or 5 teams. Two prizes will be offered, one by a jury of experts, one by the public.

COST: None, the organizers will cover accommodation and most meals.


Monday 26 Students arrival: Welcome, some explanation of the procedures and information especially about the ongoing participative process
Tuesday 27 City tour by a guide from de tourist office and a local archeologist
Wednesday 28 Public transportation and city discovery. Reading of all documents
Thursday 29 Presentation training “How to present the final project”
Friday 30 Beginning of the contest
Saturday 31 End of the contest and presentation of results

The contest begins officially on Friday 30th August at 9 a.m. and ends when projects are handed in on Saturday 31st August at 2 p.m.

Students will be working at Aula Magna of Château d’Yverdon-les-Bains. The room will be open to Yverdon-les-Bains’ citizens who are invited to interact with the participants inthe contest. The area of the project is the one of place d’Armes of Yverdon-les-Bains.
Aim of the contest is to propose a project for place d’Armes:

especially creative
accommodating citizens’ expectations
Teams will present their projects to citizens (5-minute presentation) on Saturday 31st August at 5 p.m. Prizes will be assigned at 6 p.m.
